Vivien is a knowledge counsel in our Technology & Commercial Transactions department, helping our lawyers and clients to stay on top of developments in data protection, IT and intellectual property law.
Vivien joined Travers Smith in 2012, and prior to that she spent eight years gaining experience as an associate in commercial, IP and IT transactions, in the Technology and Media team at Pinsent Masons.
As a knowledge counsel, Vivien is responsible for producing and maintaining the department's IP, data protection law and IT know how; producing updates and briefings on legal topics and new legal developments for our lawyers and our clients; co-ordinating, planning and delivering training on legal topics, again both internally and for clients, and answering adhoc queries from across the Firm. Vivien also advises the Firm on its own compliance with data protection law and in respect of its contracts with suppliers and service providers, and is a member of the Law Society GDPR working group.
Vivien read law at Bristol University and qualified in 2001.
