Rachel leads our Knowledge Management and Learning & Development teams and is a member of the firm's Senior Management Team. A Travers Smith veteran, she joined the firm in 1995 and became a Corporate partner in 1999 before moving into a Knowledge and Learning role.
Rachel has led our team of Knowledge Lawyers at Travers Smith since 2000 and her remit extends to the development and implementation of our knowledge management strategy and overall responsibility for the professional development of our lawyers and business services teams as well as our client training offering.
Knowledge Management
Rachel and the wider Knowledge team at Travers Smith take responsibility for ensuring that the firm has the latest legal knowledge, market intelligence and best practice at its fingertips, and that we leverage our knowledge and experience in delivering a first-class service to clients. Rachel also coordinates our thought leadership and knowledge resources for clients and others externally, particularly focussing on broad, multi-disciplinary topics such as ESG and Brexit. She is a member of the firm’s ESG and Impact Group and Asset Management Knowhow Group.
Learning & Development
Rachel oversees the design and delivery of our legal and professional skills training programmes across the firm, underpinning our lawyers’ reputation for technical excellence, business acumen and strong interpersonal skills. She is also responsible for ensuring that we continually develop our training programmes to support the emergence of new roles and to reflect technological advances in the wider legal market.
Legal background
Rachel is an experienced corporate lawyer with a background in private equity and M&A. She continues to draw on her many years as a practising lawyer in designing effective knowledge and training solutions for the firm's lawyers and its clients.
