Associate
Jonathan is an associate in the Funds Department.
Jonathan joined the firm from an international law firm where he worked in the asset management and investment funds department, specialising in private funds. Prior to this, he worked in the legal transactions team of a Swiss-based private equity firm where he covered discretionary and co-investment funds across all asset classes. He has experience advising on fund formation, fundraising, carried interest arrangements and related regulation.
Jonathan Trent is a superstar. I genuinely would have been lost without him during our fundraising process. He is so calm. I have never seen him get flustered or overwhelmed. I think this is a real sign of someone that has confidence because they are great at their job.
I really like how the junior team rotate but this never impacts on delivery which just goes to show how much they invest in their junior team members making sure they are up to speed. I would not hesitate to recommend Jeremy Elmore and Jonathan Trent as a dream team to any other Funds in the mid-market space looking for lawyers.
