Helen is a trainee solicitor in our Operational Risk & Environment department.
Having grown up in Tooting, I spent much of my childhood at Tooting Bec Lido. After swimming competitively until university, I now swim most days at indoor (heated!) pools, as well as taking part in an annual 'lido day' consisting of a 10km swim across 10 London lidos with my mum and sister. Last year I completed the Swim Serpentine event and a beautiful 2-mile fjord swim in Galway. I'm working up the courage to join a channel-crossing swim-relay team one day.
Before joining Travers Smith I worked as a Detective in the Metropolitan Police. This provided me with a wide range of opportunities to put the rigorous training into practice on an ever-varied daily basis. In 2022, I decided to attend a vacation scheme at Travers and instantly felt the warmth and support of people here. This, coupled with their investment into training and non-hierarchical structure, made it an easy decision to choose the firm as the place to begin my legal career.
