Travers Smith wins at The Drawdown Awards 2024

Travers Smith LLP is delighted to have been awarded the ‘Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Adviser’ Award at The Drawdown Awards 2024.

These Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within private fund operations and recognise leaders who demonstrate the highest standards of service and operations to their clients. 

The ‘Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Adviser’ award recognises the team’s expertise and advice to private equity funds. The team achieved this through demonstrating exceptional client growth and satisfaction and product innovation in the face of a dynamic global regulatory landscape, regularly advising on a plethora of structures, strategies, and regulations to over 45 leaders in the private equity space.

Highlights in 2023 include:

  • GP-led Secondaries: Advising Clipway on its establishment as a new global GP and strategic investment from Carmignac and General Atlantic. 
  • Structural solutions: Advising Bain Capital Credit on the successful launch and final closing of Bain Capital Credit CLO Management II Ltd.
  • Retailisation fund structures: Advising Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions on the launch of Brookfield Infrastructure Income Fund. Brookfield has seeded the strategy with c. US $1 billion of private investments.
  • Growth strategies: Advising Hunter Point Capital on a strategic partnership with Inflexion. Minority investment will support Inflexion’s plans to grow its mid-market private equity strategies in Europe.
  • ESG and sustainability: Advising significant number of asset managers and their funds on the application of European Union ESG and "anti-greenwashing" requirements.

The team was also shortlisted for the ‘Fund Finance Adviser’ award.
