Travers Smith to host webinar on the impact of Brexit on supply chains

Overview

As 'Brexit Day' looms ever closer, Travers Smith will be hosting a lunchtime webinar to explore the likely impact of Brexit on supply chains and outline concrete steps that business should take to prepare.

The webinar, which will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 27 February, will last for 45 minutes to an hour and focus on:

  • What should you – and your suppliers - be doing to prepare for the imposition of customs controls and tariffs on goods from the EU?
  • How severely will key entry points such as the Channel ports and the Channel Tunnel be affected?
  • If a key supplier claims that it has everything under control, should you take that assurance at face value – or do you need to dig deeper?
  • What is likely to happen in the event of a "no deal" scenario – and how probable is such an outcome?

In answering these questions, we will look at what customs officials and lobbyists for the logistics sector are saying, recent government studies of how supply chains would cope with disruption from other causes and the experience of other countries when introducing new customs systems.
