Travers Smith to host International Environmental Lawyers Network Conference

Overview

Travers Smith LLP’s Operational Risk and Environment team is delighted to be hosting this year’s International Environmental Lawyers Network Conference on 9 June.

The theme for this year’s conference is Globalisation meets populism: What does it all mean for environmental regulation?

The conference will examine emerging trends and shifting approaches to regional political and economic integration and free trade agreements, against the backdrop of rising populist movements and other rapid change, notably in Europe and the US. It will also explore the impact of this on environmental and operational regulation, with a particular focus on products and trade, energy and infrastructure and risk management and compliance more generally.

Leading environmental and regulatory lawyers from around the world who will be in attendance, will discuss  global regulatory and environmental developments corporates and investors should be aware of. The various break-out sessions will allow delegates to drill-down into more specific issues relevant to Products & Trade and Energy & Infrastructure.

Overall, the main focus of the day will be on how best to manage many of the newer areas of Risk & Liability, especially in light of economic, political and technological disrupters.
