Travers Smith is proud to be supporting Mental Health Awareness Week (14 - 18 May) with a series of seminars and workshops aimed at raising awareness of mental health challenges.
The theme for this year's MHAW is Stress: Are we coping?. Throughout the week we will be joined by representatives from mental health charity MQ, The Professional Career Partnership, and corporate wellness specialist Health is Wealth. We are also pleased to be joined by Daniele Boido, who specialises in teaching mindfulness and meditation through psychoanalysis, hypnotherapy, pilates and yoga.
MQ and Health is Wealth will kickstart the week of sessions with a panel discussion exploring what stress is. The Professional Career Partnership will run a session on spotting the signs of mental health illness, which will explore stress and the impact it has on the body, how stress can lead to illness, and the role that therapy can play in easing stress. Daniele Boido will provide an introduction to meditation and relaxation, explore the benefits of meditation and also provide practical tips to optimise sleep and minimise anxiety.
This year we will also be running training targeted at all line managers across the firm to help them spot the signs of mental health illness in their team members and provide them with advice and guidance on supporting their team where needed.
Mental wellbeing and resilience is an important topic for both the firm and the legal profession in general and Travers Smith is continuing to support charities and initiatives to help raise awareness of mental health.
