Daniel Gerring, partner at Travers Smith, has been included in Cambridge University Alumni's inaugural The Q100. He, along with other esteemed alumni from across a range of industries, have been honoured and recognised as "LGBT+ firsts" in many of these industries, in marriages and as parents. "They have excelled beyond the LGBT+ community", said the University.
It is recognition of Daniel's commitment to the LBGT+ community at Travers Smith, in the wider community through his charity work - including with Just Like Us, GiveOut and Refugees at Home - and in the pensions industry, where he worked with the UK Pensions Regulator to produce the first regulatory Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) guidance for the industry. He has also proactively supported the Cambridge University's LGBTQ@Cam programme.
Daniel said: "A list like this would have seemed implausible, if not impossible, when I started at Cambridge in 1996. Nearly 30 years later, it's great to see this happen and, on a personal level, a real honour to be included alongside such an inspiring group of alumni. There is no room for complacency on LGBT+ rights, which makes initiatives such as this all the more important."
