Leading independent law firm Travers Smith LLP has announced the hire of Mandip Englund as a Restructuring & Insolvency partner in the Finance team, further strengthening its Restructuring & Insolvency practice.
Mandip joins Travers Smith in May from Fried Frank, where she has been a partner. She advises a diverse range of clients including boards of companies, private equity sponsors, credit funds and distressed funds, insolvency practitioners, pension trustees and clearing banks/investment banks. Her expertise advising on the full spectrum of restructuring and insolvency matters, including financial restructuring, distressed investing and formal insolvency, will enable the firm to further grow its business in this area.
Mandip will take on the role of Head of Restructuring & Insolvency, working closely with the Finance and Corporate practices and the wider firm. Her arrival follows the recent hire of Infrastructure Debt Partner Ryan Ayrton, who joined the Finance team in September last year. In recent months the firm has also welcomed Jeremy Dennison as a partner into the Private Equity & Sponsors Group, and John Daghlian as a Senior Consultant in the Funds group.
Managing Partner Edmund Reed commented:
"I am delighted to welcome Mandip to the firm. Continuing to strengthen our partnership across the full spectrum of the firm is a key focus for my second term as Managing Partner. We will achieve this through a combination of internal promotions and selective lateral hires, ensuring we have the right teams in place to provide our clients with the bespoke, premium service which our clients value so highly."
Head of Travers Smith's Finance Department, Charlie Bischoff, said:
"I am very excited to welcome Mandip as a partner in the Finance team. Her arrival will enhance our Finance offering, taking our Restructuring and Insolvency practice to the next level. I have no doubt that she will be a strong cultural fit, and bring renewed energy, direction and potential to our team and the wider firm."
Mandip Englund commented:
“I am delighted to be joining Travers Smith. The full-service capability and quality of lawyers the firm is renowned for provides a very strong platform from which to serve clients in restructuring and insolvency situations. I look forward to collaborating with partners across the firm to continue to grow the practice.”
