Travers Smith celebrates International Women's Day 2018

Overview

In a year celebrating female suffrage, Travers Smith LLP is delighted to be marking International Women's Day on 8 March. The Gender Balance Group is hosting a breakfast event to celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women throughout the history and around the world.

2018 marks the centenary of the passing of the 1918 Representation of the People Act – the first time some women in the UK were given the right to vote, and we are pleased to be joined by Ellen Stuart from the Museum of London at our breakfast event. Ellen will be talking about the Museum's year-long Votes for Women programme and its exhibition dedicated to all those who campaigned tirelessly for over 50 years to achieve votes for women.

This year, International Women's Day falls within the firm's first-ever Diversity Month, which will include a panel discussion between senior women working in law to discuss female leadership and women in leadership roles.
