Travers Smith announces new Head of Technology & Commercial Transactions

Overview

Travers Smith LLP has announced the appointment of Louisa Chambers as Head of Technology & Commercial Transactions, with effect from 1 January 2025.

Louisa succeeds Dan Reavill, who has come to the end of his term as Head of Department. Dan will continue as a partner in the Technology & Commercial Transactions team.

Louisa specialises in all forms of technology and data law and both contentious and non-contentious IP. Her combined specialisations enable her to advise on a wide-range of technology transactions, IP agreements and data/privacy law compliance projects.  She particularly focuses on the technology, retail, financial services and automotive sectors.  In addition, a large part of Louisa's practice involves advising online retailers and the providers of digital services, particularly the providers of online platforms and ecommerce solutions.

Travers Smith's Technology & Commercial Transactions practice is made up of 27 lawyers, including five partners.

Louisa commented:

"I am thrilled to be taking over as Head of Technology & Commercial Transactions, and would like to thank Dan for his continued contribution to the success of our practice and all he has done for the department. I am very excited to lead our fantastic team and I am keen to ensure that we continue to provide technically excellent advice that is commercial, sensible and outcome-oriented for our clients.  We act for some brilliant companies and other organisations and it's important to me that the level of service and type of support that we give to them is matched only by their ambition, innovation and drive. "

Managing Partner Edmund Reed commented:

"Many congratulations to Louisa on her appointment, I know she will do an excellent job leading our Technology & Commercial Transactions practice and continue to deliver fantastic advice to our clients. I'd also like to thank Dan Reavill for all his hard work during his tenure."
