Travers Smith LLP announces the promotion of one lawyer to Director, and three lawyers to Senior Counsel. All promotions are effective from 1 January 2025.
The new Director is Elissavet Grout, Tax, Incentives and Remuneration Group.
The new Senior Counsel and their principal areas are:

Director promotion
Elissavet Grout - Tax, Incentives and Remuneration Group
The Travers Smith incentives team advises on high-profile public company transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, listings and takeovers, with Elissavet taking the lead role in providing legal, tax and regulatory advice to her clients. Outside of the transactional work, Elissavet has considerable experience of working as a trusted adviser to companies listed both in the UK and on non-UK exchanges, where she advises on the design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of all manner of short and long-term incentive plans. Elissavet is a participating member of both the Tax, and Share Scheme Expert groups of the Quoted Company Alliance (QCA).
Alongside extensive public company work, Elissavet provides both buy-side and sell-side incentives advice to clients in private merger and acquisition transactions and supports private equity backed clients with establishing their global management incentive plans. Elissavet is highly experienced in cross border work and regularly advises on global mobility employment tax and incentive matters alongside the firm's Employment and Immigration Practice. She is an active participant of the Travers Smith Legal Experts in Schools initiative, and regularly contributes to the firm's pro-bono workstreams.
Senior Counsel promotions
Eve Dwyer - Private Equity and Financial Sponsors
Eve specialises in UK and international private equity transactions and M&A, acting for and advising financial sponsors, investee companies and management teams on a variety of transactions including acquisitions, disposals, minority investments and general corporate matters. She also advises asset management firms on secondary transactions, including transfers of assets into continuation vehicles and fund-to-fund transfers.
Eve leads the Private Equity & Financial Sponsors Department's contribution to Travers Smith's market leading ESG & Impact offering, is a member of the firm's AI Working Group and has a key focus on helping develop Travers Smith's relationships with leading independent law firms around the world.
Matt Humphreys – Financial Services and Markets
Matt advises operators of financial market infrastructure, digital assets and fintech businesses and financial market participants (including asset managers) on new product and services launches, strategic business transformation projects and day-to-day legal and regulatory matters. He has experience advising on the unique legal, regulatory and policy framework applicable to FMI operators, as well as the various aspects of UK and EU financial services law and regulation to which participants in the broader financial markets are subject.
Nick Glynn – Financial Services and Markets
Nick advises on a range of financial regulatory and ESG matters including cross-border fund marketing and distribution, securitisation, business line licencing and structuring, regulatory perimeter issues, regulatory capital and consolidation, change in control, sustainability disclosures and ESG financial product labelling.
He mainly works with international asset managers in both the retail and institutional spaces and capital markets businesses. Nick joined the firm in 2015.
