A Travers Smith team led by Head of Environment & Operational Regulatory, Doug Bryden, advised Warburg Pincus, alongside Clearly Gottlieb, on the acquisition of a majority stake in STHI Holdings, Inc., the holding company of healthcare and biotechnology company, Sterigenics, from private equity house GTCR.
Sterigenics is a worldwide leader in providing sterilization services to the medical device, pharmaceutical, food safety and high performance/specialty materials industries, and provides radioactive materials to hospitals and laboratories for use in the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of disease.
The Travers Smith team included Environment & Operational Regulatory associates Carl Boeuf and James Nierinck and senior consultant Owen Lomas. The mandate required the team to support on a range of regulatory and environment law issues in multiple EU-states, and again demonstrates the growing focus on regulatory and risk management both during corporate M&A and more generally.
