Travers Smith LLP has advised longstanding client Phoenix Equity Partners ("Phoenix") on their investment in Global Freight Solutions ("GFS"). Phoenix has acquired a majority stake in GFS investing alongside current management. The investment is the third from Phoenix's 2016 fund and will support the continued growth and development of GFS and provide funding for future bolt-on acquisitions.
GFS is a leading provider of parcel and carrier management services to retail and B2B businesses in the UK. Through its proprietary technology platform, GFS arranges the delivery of approximately 10 million parcels a year on behalf of over 300 customers providing these businesses with over 1,000 delivery options through up to 50 carriers.
The Travers Smith team was led by private equity partners James Renahan and Edmund Reed with assistance from corporate associates James Parker, Edward Pike and Rob Coward. The team also included tax partner Russell Warren and associate Joseph Sheldrick. Catalyst provided buy-side corporate finance advice.
