Travers Smith advises Phoenix Equity Partners on its investment in Redington

Overview

Travers Smith LLP has advised long-standing client Phoenix Equity Partners on its agreement to invest in Redington, the independent institutional investment consultant. The transaction is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

Redington provides framework-based, outcome-oriented investment advice, research and technology to some of the largest institutional investors in the UK, Europe and China. The business has seen strong growth in recent years, with Assets under Consulting increasing from £115 billion in 2013 to over £500 billion today. The business will retain its independence and control over strategy and the inclusive culture on which it prides itself. Redington’s founders will remain involved and the roles and responsibilities of the management team and the company’s 170 staff will remain unchanged.

The Travers Smith team was led by Private Equity & Financial Sponsors Partners Ian Keefe and Edmund Reed, with support from Associates Hugo Twigg, James Sherlock, Henry Don and Jessica Cragg. The team also included Tax Partner Russell Warren, Head of Incentives & Remuneration Mahesh Varia, Tax Associates Aimee Hutchinson and Sakhee Ganatra, Employment Senior Counsel Ailie Murray and Head of Financial Services & Markets Tim Lewis.
