Overview

Travers Smith LLP has advised London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) on its major new licensing deal with Paramount Pictures as part of the development of the multi-billion pound London Resort theme park planned for the Thames Estuary.

Paramount Pictures is the third major entertainment partner to sign up with the London Resort, alongside BBC Studios and ITV Studios. The movie studio is home to some of the world’s most iconic films including The Godfather, The Italian Job, the Mission: Impossible franchise and, post-apocalyptic hit, A Quiet Place, and will be working with LRCH to create a range of awe-inspiring experiences for the theme park.

Construction work at the site, which covers approximately 535 acres, is expected to begin in 2021 and the park is scheduled to open in 2024.

Commercial, IP & Technology Partner Ben Chivers led the negotiations with Paramount with support from Associate Richard Offord. The LRCH team is led by Corporate Finance Partner Jon Reddington and includes Real Estate Partner Alex Millar.
