A Travers Smith team led by head of private equity, Paul Dolman, has advised Hellman & Friedman on the sale of SSP, a global insurance technology business, in a secondary buy-out backed by Lloyds Development Capital and Scottish Equity Partners.
With Hellman & Friedman's backing, SSP has become a market leader in the provision of IT solutions to the insurance industry, serving over 1,000 insurance brokers and 160 insurers across more than 50 countries. Its broking technology platform processes transactions worth over £5bn in premiums and over 1.1bn insurance quotes per year.
The Travers Smith team included corporate associates Alex Dixon, Ian Keefe, Joanna Roberts and Lauren Causon, tax partner Kathleen Russ and tax associate Silvana Corrieri.
Management were advised by Squire Patton Boggs and a Travers Smith tax team led by partner Russell Warren.
