Private equity partner Helen Croke has advised new client Stirling Square Capital Partners, a leading pan-European private equity firm, on the acquisition of Mettis Aerospace Ltd.
The company was acquired by Stirling Square from Saints Chamonix. The transaction marks Stirling Square’s fourth investment from its Third Fund, which recently held its final closing at the hard cap of €600m.
Mettis is an international manufacturer of precision forged and machined components for the aerospace sector. The company was founded over 75 years ago and numbers approximately 500 employees. Over the years Mettis has established a global customer base in the aerospace sector and developed significant relationships with Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Boeing.
The Travers Smith team, advising Stirling Square on the transaction, was led by private equity partner Helen Croke and included private equity associates George Weavil, Ed Pike and Naveed Anwar, tax partner Simon Skinner and tax associate Amie McFadzean.
Helen Croke commented: “We are delighted to have received our first instruction from Stirling Square and assist them on this important transaction, which, through their support of Mettis, will further consolidate their presence in the aerospace sector.”
