Langholm Capital acquires Wool Overs

Overview

Travers Smith LLP has advised its long standing client Langholm Capital on the acquisition of Wool Overs.

Founded by Mark and Clare Shenton in 1989, Wool Overs has developed from a business selling cable-knit sweaters at country shows, to an international online retailer selling over 150 different styles of jumpers, sweaters and cardigans.

Based in West Sussex, Wool Overs has seen turnover increase to circa £25m following 25% annual growth in each of the last two years. The business has been recognised as a Fast Track 100 Ones to Watch company.  Its websites cover markets across the world including the USA, Australia, France and Germany, with one third of sales now generated overseas.

The Travers Smith team was led by private equity partner Lucie Cawood, who was supported by private equity senior counsel Moushumi Sharmacharja and senior private equity associates Gemma Phillips and Mark Storrie. Tax advice was provided by tax partner Kathleen Russ and senior tax associate Richard Wild
