Double success for Travers Smith at the City of London Corporation's Clean City Awards Scheme

Overview

Travers Smith was thrilled to win two awards at yesterday's Clean City Awards Scheme (CCAS) ceremony, run by the City of London Corporation, which recognised the firm's commitment to a sustainable environment.

The awards are:

  • Clean City Awards Scheme (CCAS) – Chairman's Cup: This award demonstrates procurement/buying-related actions that support carbon reduction, biodiversity, circular economy initiatives, and the reduction of single-use plastics.
  • Clean City Awards Scheme (CCAS) – Circular Economy: This award highlights efforts to reduce waste through reuse, minimise waste generated on-site, and keep items in circulation.

The Clean City Awards Scheme was set up in 1994 by the City of London Corporation to foster partnerships with all types of businesses in the city by raising the profile of responsible waste management.  It recognises and rewards good practice by encouraging businesses to adopt the principles of 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle'.

In making the awards the judges said that Travers Smith was a worthy winner.

Paul Mullis, Workplace ESG Manager, commented: "I was thrilled to receive these awards on behalf of Travers Smith. A huge thank you to everyone at the firm whose day-to-day actions and operational practices have been recognised by the City of London Corporation."

Partner Tom Coulter added: "We are delighted that the firm has been acknowledged for its ongoing commitment to a sustainable environment, both now and for future generations.  Recognition of our programmes, which encompass all business areas, is a significant achievement."
