Bridgepoint Development Capital acquires Inspiring Learning

Travers Smith LLP has advised a newco funded by longstanding client Bridgepoint Development Capital on its acquisition of Inspiring Learning from aPriori Capital and Ares Management for an undisclosed sum.

Inspiring Learning, a UK headquartered provider of residential activity centres and educational trips for primary and secondary school children, has two divisions: Kingswood, an operator of 10 residential activity centres with over 4,000 beds principally in the north, east and south east of the UK and Equity, which provides curriculum linked educational tours, ski trips and sports tours.

The Travers Smith team advising Bridgepoint on the acquisition was led by head of private equity Paul Dolman, with support from corporate associates George Weavil and Jessica Kolhorn. Private equity partner Will Yates and associate Ed Pike advised the client on the equity arrangements. Additional specialist advice on the transaction was provided by tax partner Simon Skinner and associates Silvana Van der Velde and Laura Jackson along with head of finance partner Matt Ayre and associate Fiona Swords.

DLA Piper advised the vendors aPriori Capital and Ares Management.  Management were advised by Macfarlanes.
