Travers Smith has advised Duncan Lawrie Private Bank on the sale of its loan book and the sale of its wealth management business, Duncan Lawrie Asset Management, both of which were announced on 19 December 2016. Duncan Lawrie Private Bank is a subsidiary of long-standing Travers Smith client, Camellia plc.

Travers Smith has advised Paymentsense on its refinancing

Travers Smith has advised new client Paymentsense, the leading card processing services provider, on its £110m refinancing and equity capital restructuring with debt finance provided by CVC Credit Partners and EQT Mid-Market Credit Fund. Paymentsense provides card processing services to more than 50,000 small and medium-sized businesses and has processed in excess of £5bn transactions in the last year.

Travers Smith LLP has advised Shore Capital and Panmure Gordon in their capacities as sponsor and joint bookrunners and Stifel Nicolaus Europe (trading as Keefe, Bruyette & Woods) in its capacity as placing agent in connection with the £70 million firm placing and placing and open offer of new shares by Chesnara plc in connection with its acquisition of Legal & General Nederland Levensverzekering Maatschappij N.V. for €160 million.

Clearbell acquires Coventry mixed-use scheme Belgrade Plaza

Travers Smith LLP has advised longstanding client Clearbell Capital LLP on its acquisition of Belgrade Plaza in Coventry for £16m. This is the second mixed-use scheme in Coventry to be purchased by Clearbell on behalf of a fund it manages in two years following their acquisition of Earlsdon Park in 2015, which Travers Smith also advised on.
