Off-Payroll Workers: Prepare now for the 2021 changes

Major changes to the tax rules for off-payroll workers in the private sector will come into force next April after a year's deferral due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From that date, businesses engaging workers through intermediary companies or agencies will have increased responsibility for checking the status of these workers and, where required, operating PAYE in relation to payments to them.

Job Support Scheme - what does it mean for employers?

The Chancellor has today announced a new Job Support Scheme (JSS) to start on 1 November (following the end of the furlough scheme on 31 October). The JSS is aimed at supporting viable jobs by topping up pay for employees working reduced hours due to decreased demand.

Job Retention Bonus - Further Details

The Chancellor recently announced a new Job Retention Bonus for employers as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) winds down. The bonus aims to incentivise employers to retain furloughed staff when the CJRS closes on 31 October 2020.
