Arbitration

Arbitration is an effective way of resolving disputes, particularly those with an international element.

Overview

Our experienced team of lawyers advise on high-value and complex arbitrations across a variety of sectors.  We have acted on many types of arbitration, both domestic and international, including those governed by the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and other institutions, as well as ad hoc arbitrations.

We are tenacious, resilient and thrive under pressure.  Our team is adept at handling the most difficult and challenging arbitrations.  Our clients often want quick, cost-effective and practical resolution to their arbitrations.  Alongside their first-class legal skills, our lawyers offer straightforward thinking and commercial advice to achieve each client's goals.

Aside from representing our clients in arbitrations, our team advises on a wide range of arbitration-related issues. This includes advice in relation to drafting arbitration agreements, obtaining court relief in support of arbitrations and enforcement of arbitral awards.

The emphasis of our commercial arbitration practice is on disputes with an international element, particularly for foreign clients.  Our strong relationships with the best overseas disputes practices allow us to offer a seamless and tailored service outside this jurisdiction to our clients if the case requires, particularly in relation to enforcement of awards in foreign jurisdictions.

Our lawyers are members of a number of leading arbitration networks and bodies including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum and the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group.
